GPRO’s Lean RFID Garment Tracking and Productivity Solution, G.PRO RFID SDT, Won Best In The Industrial Applications Category At The Prestigious International Asia Pacific ICT Awards 2008 In Jakarta, Indonesia.

The new RFID SDT productivity tracking solution from GPRO Technologies (GPRO) was voted best by a panel of judges in the Industrial Applications category at the Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA) International 2008 held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Sim Han Fei, G.PRO SDT Product Manager, and Application Consultant Lee Bee Yin made the final winning RFID SDT presentation at the grueling APICTA judging sessions. The coveted award was presented to CEO Quek Kar Loon and the team at an awards ceremony.

GPRO was among a list of specially selected entrants representing Malaysia in this highest level of the APICTA competition in Jakarta, Indonesia. The first judging level was held in October 2008 in Malaysia. The prestigious international lineup this time saw tough, competitive entries coming from all across Asia Pacific such as Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.

This is the second time that GPRO Technologies won an APICTA award for its lean apparel industry focused solutions. In 2007, GPRO Technologies won the APICTA award for G.PRO IEES, an industrial engineering motion study analysis solution at the national level. This is the first time GPRO was selected for the award at the international level.

Leading apparel manufacturers in the region have been using GPRO’s new line of RFID enabled solutions and services to track and create successful lean production environments for buyers such as Nike, Adidas, Walmart, Nordstrom, and JC Penney.

The APICTA is an international Awards Program to increase ICT awareness, providing networking and product benchmarking opportunities to ICT innovators and entrepreneurs in the region. The program is designed to stimulate ICT innovation and creativity, promote economic and trade relations. Its 16 member-economies include Australia, Brunei, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.

This is the second time that GPRO Technologies has won an award in the APICTA awards (in 2007, for G.PRO IEES; Best Industrial Application Category).

The awards ceremony was held on 15th October 2008 at the grand KL Performing Arts Centre. It was attended by our CEO Quek Kar Loon, Sim Han Fei, Thio Soon Heng and Lee Bee Yin. We are so proud to pick up this award for GPRO Technologies.

Esquel Enterprises Limited Group picked a Bronze Award for the prestigious Best EPC/ RFID Implementation category.

Carry Wealth Holdings Limited was also awarded a Certificate of Merit for its real time production monitoring solution.
